UBL 2.1 Invoice is the XML syntax behind Peppol BIS Billing, many EN 16931 CIUS profiles, and XRechnung in its UBL variant. The same semantic invoice can be serialised as UBL or as CII.
The API generates UBL with the CustomizationID you select and validates it against that profile. It is the interchange format to use before you map into a national schema such as KSeF or FatturaPA.

What is the difference between UBL and CII?
Both can carry an EN 16931 invoice. UBL is OASIS XML and is what Peppol BIS uses. CII is UN/CEFACT XML and is what ZUGFeRD and Factur-X embed. See the UBL vs CII comparison.
