German B2B hybrid invoices, MINIMUM through EXTENDED, detected automatically from the embedded XML. Legacy 2p0 identifiers accepted.
ZUGFeRD is the German hybrid invoice: a PDF/A-3 that people can read, with EN 16931 CII XML embedded for software. Profiles run from MINIMUM through EXTENDED. Version 2.x is the one aligned with Factur-X.
The API builds that PDF/A-3 from JSON or validates a file you already have, including the embedded XML. It does not replace your accounting archive.
Choose ZUGFeRD for German businesses that still need a PDF. Choose XRechnung when the buyer requires pure XML for B2G.

Is ZUGFeRD the same as Factur-X?
They share the same hybrid idea and the EN 16931 CII payload. Factur-X is the French profile family; ZUGFeRD is the German one. Cross-border files are often convertible, but the profile and national rules still differ.
